Carol Gosho, CFP®

Principal and Founder

Carol Gosho, CFP®, a veteran San Francisco investment advisor and Certified Financial Planner™, has been helping clients define and achieve their financial goals while honoring their needs and values since 1978. She began her career at PaineWebber, moved to US Bancorp PiperJaffray in 1996, and in November 2000 started her own fee-only financial planning and portfolio management business in San Mateo.

A third-generation Japanese-American, Ms. Gosho was born in Minidoka Relocation Camp, Idaho. Her family moved to Tokyo in 1955 where she grew up as the daughter of an American diplomat. In later years she taught English to Japanese executives in Tokyo while raising her daughter and served as Protocol Assistant for the United States Pavilion at The Japan World Exposition in Osaka in 1970.

Ms. Gosho holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. She completed the education requirements for her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado in 1983. She is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of San Francisco and Silicon Valley. In the community she is a board member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) San Mateo County and helped start and co-chaired what has become the largest mental health walk in northern California—NAMI Walk SF Bay Area.

Ms. Gosho is a frequent public speaker and industry spokesperson. She has appeared on ABC television’s “Marketplace – Women on Business” and CBS Marketwatch.com.
